My Students

Have you ever experienced the joy of sitting around a table and discussing a good book? My students need a round table to meet with each other during guided reading, literature circles, and tutor time.

We are 22 first graders from rural Minnesota, and we attend a wonderful K-1 school.

We love to learn and are excited that we are learning how to read more challenging books. My students are excited to discuss and write about the new adventures we are reading about.

My Project

During our guided reading groups and literature circles, we discuss the books we are reading and work on writing projects together. A round table would make this possible. Every student would have a spot to sit and participate at, as well as a level, even surface to write on. It would also provide an area for small group tutoring in math and reading.

Currently reading groups are either forced to sit on the floor or crowd together at a small rectangle shaped table.

A round table would give students elbow room, space to read and write,as well as a place to work in small groups for tutoring.
