Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These are scary and uncertain times. Never did I imagine that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom.
However, the year is not over yet!
Learning continues.
Many of my students have difficulty focusing to learn online. Others do not have internet or computers to complete on-line lessons. Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever, if any, books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.
My Project
Right now, the majority of my students do not have their own books, and rely on online books for their reading materials. Their lessons are also on-line if they have the technology. I would be delighted to give each of my students copies of the classic Dick and Jane books so that they can read at home with their parents. These books will help them practice high frequency words.
I know my students will love the Dick and Jane books to add to our distance learning.
They will then have books of their own to read with their family. These books will help with their fluency and I hope this will encourage them to want to read more!
