My Students

My first-grade students are active, fun-loving six and seven year old children. These students love to play, create and entertain each other. They love free time and playing with their classmates. They love using technology to help them learn. They are very independent learners. These students are proud of their classroom and classroom materials. They work hard to have a clean positive work environment. These students deserve to have the best because they work so hard on a daily basis!

My Project

The students in my first grade classroom are smart, active and love hands-on learning activities. The materials that I am requesting will allow my students to complete ELA activities independently or in stations.

Being able to work independently at this age builds confidence.

That confidence allows students to realize how exciting learning can be. For this project, I am asking for a Teaching Reading Skills Activity Centers Pack. This packet includes dry/erase cards and story boards that my first graders can use to build comprehension, vocabulary and fluency skills. The Draw and Write Journals will allow my students to create their own stories and practice writing quality sentences and paragraphs. Their writing will be included in a journal that they can keep, take home and show their families, or display for other classmates to read.
