Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are eager to learn and want practice opportunities to ensure that they are growing in their learning. The class is made up of students with very diverse needs. They need new resources to keep them engaged as they practice new skills in class.

The focus of these materials will be to help my students master grade-level reading and writing skills all while having fun.

The writing materials will be used during literacy centers to provide students with opportunities to build grammatically correct sentences. This will help my English language learners build their understanding of the structure of the English language. The language materials will be used to help students make their sentences stronger. They will have opportunities to build compound words, words with prefixes and suffixes, and learn new academic vocabulary words. Students will also be able to use the phonics blocks to demonstrate their understanding of letter sounds and practice manipulating sounds in words. Students will engage in various games to make their learning meaningful and to encourage full participation in the classroom.
