Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my cluster classroom are in 6th to 8th grade. They have Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy and other special needs.
Students in my classroom are hard working and always try their best.
They are visual learners that benefit from classroom visuals, and visuals in content areas. Students also benefit from hands on activities when learning about different concepts. The materials will be used during reading and writing centers.
Please help provide our classroom with kits for current, and future centers. Thank you for donating! You could truly make a difference.
My Project
Students read at different reading levels, and read using the Reading A-Z program. The leveled books will allow my students to choose new books to read during reading centers. They will be able to read to themselves, to a teacher, or with a teacher.
The comprehension notebooks will allow students to read short passages.
Afterwards, they will be able to answer questions about the text, and work on different reading concepts.
Students that are learning letters will have the chance to work on identifying letters. Students will be able to use the dot markers to identify letters. They can also practice letter identification with the different letter kits and activities. They will be able to physically pick up letters, and match them to the one on the activity.
The sight word kits and activities will allow students to practice learning sight words. They will be able to read it, view images, and practice writing sentences.
Other language kits and sentence kits will allow students to strengthen their writing. They will use sentence strips, magnets, and expo markers to practice their spelling and writing sentences. Students will also practice aspects of language and writing such as nouns and verbs.
The writing journals and writing prompt journals will be used during writing centers. Students will practice writing about a given topic. They will be able to draw an illustration that is related to what they wrote.
Thank you for your donations. Every donation makes a difference to helping my students grow as readers and writers.
