This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Glinda, The Good Witch, of The Wizard of Oz exclaimed, "You are capable of more than you know!" My students will get the opportunity to work with centers from a variety of core subjects providing them with the skills to think critically and intensively. My students are capable of changing the world!
My students live in the heart of Chicago.
They have tremendous hearts and an incredible desire to learn and be on the road to college and career readiness! They come from low-income households and attend a school that enrolls 97.4% low-income families. Funding is extremely limited within our district. With that said, I will do everything I can to give my students' the education they deserve!
My students are vibrant first graders! They have an amazing eagerness to learn and soak up as much knowledge as they truly can, which is perfect because this grade-level is so very important towards the rest of their educational careers.
Their economic status should not hinder their educations. Therefore, this project is crucial in continuing my students' lifelong love for learning.
My Project
The resources within this project will provide my students with the opportunity to work with a variety of skills independently during centers. During literacy centers, my students will independently utilize the Ready to Write! Prompt Box for grades K-1. They will also utilize the Language Practice Cards for grade 1 and Highlight Your Skills Reading Cards for grades 1-2. I will be taking students in a small-group setting using Boost Comprehension! Small-Group Teaching Center for grade 1 while my students are engaged in their independent learning. They will also enhance their mathematical knowledge through the use of Common Core Math Practice Cards for grade 1. Not only does this project supply them with a variety of skills but it also contains a variety of primary grade levels to better suit the individual learner. I am asking for a Giant Classroom Timer that the students can work to show students the importance of time management.
My students can acquire the skills needed for them to become college and career ready through the resources from this project.
Their outstanding love for learning will be heightened by allowing them to take their learning into their own hands! They truly deserve the very best.
