Help me give my students engaging and diverse books! In this project, I am also asking for organizational materials and cleaning supplies to ensure social distancing as we remain healthy and Covid-FREE!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Eager, enthusiastic, and excited to learn more about the world describes my 4th graders. My little wonders enjoy learning every day. All it takes is an engaging lesson to get their minds wondering! It is so powerful to see the question and critically think through questions and issues in and out of the classroom. There are a variety of learning styles and every child works at a different pace in my classroom. I strive to create an engaging and loving classroom environment that provides quality instruction that is tailored to all these different types of learners.
Rita Pierson said it best-"Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be."
I am the champion for all of my students because I see the potential that twinkles in their eyes!
I'm determined to effectively guide them as they continue to broaden their horizons and open doors that many people in their neighborhood only dreamed about.
My Project
Reading is so important to us. Due to the current pandemic, my students are not able to go to the school library. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place that my students really enjoy and they make it their own. We are our own little family!
Every day I watch them continue to read the same books over and over-so every book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and these kiddos are thankful for the opportunities to read!
All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
My students are also afraid of contracting Covid-19. Having safety and sanitation supplies will give students peace-of-mind knowing that their classroom is a clean and safe place to learn!
