Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from diverse backgrounds. Our school is a Title 1 school in a low-income community. I have thirty students in my integrated co-teaching classroom. My students are very enthusiastic about learning. When the coronavirus pandemic forced us to begin teaching remotely, we thought we would return to school within a month or so. Unfortunately, my students left behind valuable resources and books that they no longer have access to. Learning remotely has become a challenge for many of them. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their learning and success during this time. They’re last day in school was on March 13th and will not be returning until next school year. Many of their families have been affected economically and can not afford to buy supplies.
My Project
Please help me provide my students with resources for home and distance learning due to the coronavirus pandemic. My students are in a Title 1 school and have not had access to valuable resources and supplies since we were last in school on March 13th. They and their families have been economically affected and have been unable to obtain materials and supplies needed to learn successfully. My students need books, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, STEAM activities, and hands-on activities. As of now, students will not be returning to school until next school year in the fall. I will mail these materials directly to their homes.
