This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The specific books I'm requesting will help my older students access age-appropriate content while meeting their reading levels. Many of my students are struggling readers, and it's crucial for them to have materials that are both interesting and accessible. By providing high-interest, lower-level books, I hope to create an environment where they can enjoy reading without feeling frustrated or overwhelmed.
Unlocking the love of reading is my ultimate goal.
I want my students to feel empowered by finding books that resonate with their interests, building both their confidence and reading skills. What makes my students special is their resilience and eagerness to learn despite challenges. Many come from diverse backgrounds, with some speaking English as a second language, and they deserve resources that meet them where they are academically, helping them grow.
