My Students
My first graders come to school full of energy and ready to conquer the world. My job is to keep them motivated and to develop critical thinkers. Each child learns differently and part of my job is to find out how to reach them. Some are visual learners, some auditory learners and some learn by hands-on activities. We need to figure out how to reach all learners. My students are sweet and eager to learn. They are motivated and want to be successful students; they just need the opportunity.
My Project
My students love to read. They love to read fiction as well as nonfiction. It is always a treat for them to learn while reading a nonfiction book. Then they read a fiction book which contains some of the facts they have already learned. They get so excited when they are able to transfer the knowledge this way! These books would be ideal to teach them about the different ways they are able to use money as well as the history of money. Then they will read and apply their knowledge in these high-interest fictional books. They will be so motivated to read to learn.
