Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember the first book you ever read by yourself? How were you feeling? At the end of the school year my students are trying to be readers, ready for first grade. We work so hard to become readers that we read books in all subjects, including Math. They more we read, the better reader we become.

My students attend a Title 1 school where 97% of them receive free lunch.

My school is composed of 65% English Learners. They are sweet children who are eager to learn. These English Language Learning students often do not have access to books outside of the classroom due to tight financial budgets.

My Project

The saying is true: the more you are read to, the better reader you become. My students need to be read to daily, multiple times a day. This means that I read stories to my students in all subjects. These math books will allow my students to have plenty of reading exposure so that they can become better individual readers. Also, these math books will help them master our math standards.

Working at a Title 1 school means that we have a large number of students who receive free lunch.
