Reading About Climate Change

Help me give my students a supplement for climate change education. These books will allow them to connect different units to climate change.

My Students

Our students are high achievers who love to engage in discussion about science and the connections to the real world. We are located on the south side of Chicago and engaging with the environment is not always easy.

My students love to ask questions and often ask insightful ones that require some research outside of our curriculum.

They love to engage with technology, posting to our Google Classroom page, creating innovative digital products, and finding ways to research and explain their ideas.

They yearn to learn more and expand their worldview. Experiencing natural and built environments outside of our urban neighborhoods allows them to see new opportunities, problems, solutions, and careers!

My Project

My AP Environmental Science students work hard all year to prepare for the AP Exam. They spend a lot of time reading their dense textbook.

I am hopeful that these cartoon guides allow us to frequently discuss climate change to relate it to all environmental topics!

By using this as a summer reading or starter text, it will allow climate change to be easily accessible and integrate into all units we study!

I have found this to be useful in the past, but students really need their own copy to be able to get the connections and big picture of climate change!
