My Students

Our collaborative classroom has students with a variety of needs: Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, challenges with sensory needs and executive functioning, learning disabilities, gifted learners, English as a second language, and high emotional needs. They are full of energy, passionate, and live life to the fullest. There is never a dull moment and their joy is simply contagious.

All children can learn, they just need to do it in their own way.

These students learn best by moving, exploring, and experiencing the subject at hand. I want to be able to provide them with all the tools they need to bring out the best in each and every one. Any support I can get to make this happen would be greatly appreciated by all of us!

My Project

My students need to move in order to be able to reach their full potential. We have had so much success with hands on math and science centers allowing them to physically handle the materials and explore the concepts they need to master. For social studies, students perform plays, create models and posters.

Receiving funding for this project would allow these students an outlet to move while reading and writing which would, in turn, allow them to focus on their literacy skills.

Being able to wiggle and wobble freely gives them a way to stay on task without extra reminders.
