This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project has incredible potential to meet our goals. It’s not just about reading it’s about empowering students with autism to become leaders, build connections, and give back through inclusive service.
You're launching a community buddy reading initiative that pairs general education students with peers on the autism spectrum.
These reading buddies will read with and to their classmates, promoting literacy, inclusion, and meaningful friendships across your school and community.
Through this service-learning model, students with autism will take on leadership roles that highlight their strengths and inspire others. It’s about building bridges between learners, between classrooms, and between learning and real-world impact.
To make this vision a reality, you’re requesting accessible, engaging reading materials that meet diverse learning styles and sensory needs. These resources will support literacy, language, and emotional development turning reading into a joyful, shared experience.
In your classroom, literacy is more than a subject it’s a path to confidence, independence, and purpose. With the right tools, students with special needs can thrive and lead with pride.
With your support, this project will create an inclusive, service-focused learning environment where every student can grow, give, and shine. Together, we’ll champion literacy, celebrate neurodiversity, and inspire kindness one book, one buddy, one breakthrough at a time.
