Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a high poverty area. Every day I see that these are very determined and intelligent students. My students love to come to school.

My students also love to read.

I need to add more books to my classroom library. I have a waiting list for popular books and I would love to have several copies and to add new books that will interest my students. They would greatly benefit from this project. When they read something they like, they will be readers for life.

My Project

My students are constantly reading. They have a weekly reading log where they read at home and we also have silent reading time in class.

Some students do not have books at home, so I allow them to bring home books to read from our classroom library.

My students are reading so much, that I am in desperate need of new books to ensure they are always engaged in books that they enjoy.

With your support, my little readers will be able to improve their comprehension, increase their vocabulary, and improve their reading levels. They will also continue to share in the joy of reading!
