My Students

My second graders attend school in a high-poverty rural district. School can be tough, but these students face numerous obstacles everyday that make learning even tougher! Even though life may be challenging, these second graders come to school ready to learn!

My second graders are a group of amazing kids!

With state testing in their future, it is my goal to supply them with as many materials as I can to assist them in become proficient, competent, and passionate learners!

My Project

A good book holds a lot of power, especially for new readers. I recently switched from third grade to second grade this school year. With a new grade level comes new challenges, and addressing the needs of my readers is one of them.

We are in need of a variety of leveled readers to help encourage and support the needs of newer readers.

These students are not only learning to read, but also growing confidence in their ability. A supply of "just-right" books will help my students build their ability, stamina, and desire to read by enabling them to select something that is right on their level.
