My Students

My students are enthusiastic, curious, critical thinkers. They are all very different: about a fourth of my students came to my class two years below grade level in reading, several are in gifted and talented education, and some are trying to learn English. However, they all share the same thirst for knowledge and come eager to learn!

At our school, 40% of the students are on free or reduced-price lunch, but 100% of our students are eager to meet the challenges of a rigorous and engaging curriculum.

Every student is held to high expectations and supported as they soar to their full potential.

My Project

Scholastic Action is a magazine I’d like to get for every student in my class. Each issue improves reading and writing skills with fun activities and articles. I know my students will be excited to read.

In every issue, we’ll read inspiring true stories, debates on issues kids care about, and fascinating current events articles.

Students will also practice writing and more, with activities that develop the skills they will need in school and beyond.

With your contribution, we’ll get 8 issues for each student throughout the year. Students and families will also get access to the Action website, featuring fun videos and interactive learning games, as well as fascinating articles you can read at home together.
