My students need to read fluently and understand what they’re reading. Having a wide variety in books enables them to find books that interest them. They also need book bins to store books they’re reading.
I am changing schools and grade levels next school year. I will actually be teaching at the same school I went to and where I student taught! This school is in the county system in a small community area. Most of the households my students come from are low income. My students will be 3rd graders. Although I haven’t taught at this school yet (besides student teaching), in my previous years my students have always had a wide variety in interests. Some students love sports and action books, mystery books, books about animals, or other nonfiction books. I am looking forward to supporting my students in every way possible!
My Project
By having a wide variety of books in my classroom, my students will have the opportunity to choose books that they are interested in reading. Having an updated classroom library will also be exciting for my students because they will have updated books versus worn down and outdated books. With each student choosing their own books to read, they need book bins to store their books. Book bins will keep books from getting ruined. By your donation, you will help my students find books that keep their attention, which ultimately increases reading fluency and comprehension. These reading skills are critical skills to have in all academic areas. Thank you for your support!
