My Project
As a first-year librarian at a PreK–3rd grade school, my mission is to instill a lifelong love of reading in every student. One of the most important things I’ve learned this year is that many of my students are especially drawn to graphic novels. These books engage young readers with vibrant illustrations and accessible storytelling, making them a powerful gateway to literacy.
Unfortunately, our library currently has very few graphic novels in its collection.
Many of our students do not have access to a local library outside of school, so it is crucial that they can find books they love right here on campus. With this project, I aim to expand our graphic novel section to better meet student interests and needs. By doing so, I hope to create more opportunities for every child to discover the joy of reading.
