Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade in an urban community outside of Boston. My students come to school everyday eager to learn, grow and succeed.

The majority of my students come from low-income households and have faced many challenges at such a young age.

My Project

Help me put appropriate leveled books in the hands of my second graders. Having my students be able to read a book that is at their "just right" level will instill confidence, motivation, and willingness to continue and progress their love of reading!

The classroom rug will be a community spot where whole group lessons can occur.

Having rugs along with other flexible seating options can foster a growth mindset among students and a perspective that they have a voice in the classroom decisions.
