Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 22 kindergarten students in my class. The majority of my class receives free or reduced price lunch. I work in a low income area where the majority of my class struggles to receive the necessities that they need to come to school prepared to learn.

Most of my students are English language learners who work hard to learn the English language and are striving to meet our standards.

I love how each student is eager, creative, and enthusiastic. Each child has their own special needs and require differentiated classwork. I love my job and would love your help!

My Project

This space saver book tree will look great in my kindergarten reading center. Displaying books on this book tree will create lots of excitement and enthusiasm about reading. I plan on using it to give students easy access to thematic books that they can touch, read, and enjoy on a daily basis.

Giving students access to books at an early age will help foster vocabulary, imagination, creativity and language all while nurturing growth and development of young readers.

This book tree will be at student eye level so they can easily choose books to read to self or read to others.
