My Students

This first period of teaching has been a thrill. I have met my fifth grade students and let me tell you, they are amazing. Fifth graders are such a fun age group. They understand sarcasm, they can have deep intellectual conversations, they can learn in-depth concepts and think on a higher level. That isn't to say they aren't energetic, creative, fun-loving, and excited to learn!

When I am around fifth graders, my heart is full of joy and laughter; they keep me excited and on my toes at all times.

I am so excited to be teaching these students, and future students to come, so that I can help them learn to their fullest abilities and help them grow beyond their own limits.

My Project

My team and I are looking for great book series to provide our students an opportunity to increase their reading skills and comprehension skills. Students will read and analyze the text as an entire class. This will help students to gain reading skills, and give them a much needed passion for reading! Reading is a skill that is lacking in the upper grades, they aren't being pushed to read and aren't desiring a need to read either. By providing this book series to my students they will regain the desire to read and work on comprehension skills that will benefit them throughout the rest of their school year, and their future educational goals.
