Help me give my students high interest books to read. These graphic novels will allow my students to enjoy reading. When the students develop an interest in reading, they will become readers for life!

My Students
I have a class of 17 fifth graders at a low socioeconomic school in Houston. Many come from non-English speaking families that have only one income. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of my students are on free or reduced-price lunch. Many do not have access outside of school to books or technology.
Despite these drawbacks, my students are anxious to learn.
They enjoy reading and learning about new places, especially places that they will probably not ever visit.
My Project
By getting the students to enjoy reading, they will become more literate. Being more literate will help them with their classroom studies and allow them to become more productive citizens. Literacy will allow them to do better in High School, make attaining a college degree more attainable and help them get a meaningful, well-paying job in the future.
These children are our future.
They will be the ones leading the world. These books will show them how children their age can become responsible citizens. They must be literate and worldly, and these books will give them the foundation that they need to be successful in life!
