My students need leveled book sets to read for reading program.
This project expired on November 27, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Every day my students read during the Daily 5. They just need a variety of books to motivate them!
At my school, 99% of the students live in poverty.
Since my students do not have much at home, I try my best to give them everything they deserve, so that they are able to be successful in life. Doing this on my own is expensive. That is why I am asking for your help.
My students need to have a classroom library full of different genres and different levels. All of my students are different. I have some children reading on a third grade level and some reading advanced around a 7th or 8th grade level. This is why it is critical to have an assortment of books. I find that I have more books for students on grade level, but not enough for those below and above.
The book sets I have picked out for my classroom, will be used during the Daily 5 reading program. During this program I teach three mini lessons and after each lesson the students read using the skill that was taught. All of my students are on different levels and I need to have a variety of different books for each level. This will help them be motivated and excited to read.
Not only will this make my students better readers, which will help them thrive in every subject.
It will also show them that others who do not even know them care about them and want them to be all that they can be! Many of my students do not feel loved or cared about at home, with your help we can make them feel that way!
