Becoming a strong reader is essential to the growth, development and success of young students as they move forward in their education. In first grade, we set the foundation and create the connections they need to read through the Science of Reading principals. A strong phonemic and phonetic instruction is critical for my students. My students need these engaging hands on materials to help them build the neuropathways to become strong readers.
Hands on learning materials are essential to building the phonics skills first graders need to become strong readers.
These materials will help me to become more effective in small group instruction because I will have the materials I need to engage and teach. Instead of spending time finding things that “sort of” work. My students deserve to have access to materials that are new and were created for them to engage with their learning.
First grade is just the beginning of their reading journey, and setting them on the right path of success is what will build their confidence, ability, critical thinking skills and to become future leaders of our world. Help me set them on to a path of success!
