Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

At the end of each school year, my students have to participate in a pretty rigorous state standardized exam. This is no small task as it is several hours a day spread out over the course of 5 days. They are tested in each content area including ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

My students' being capable of reading, comprehending, and then writing a response is crucial on this test!

Each one of the 4 content areas they are tested in has some type of, if not multiple, writing responses. However, to write a correct response, they must know how to read the passages and the questions and comprehend what it is asking of them.

These items, I feel, will better help my students to learn how to properly read and comprehend what they are reading. Then it will help them turn around and right a good, strong essay to a prompt. Your generosity in donating to help me get these materials is so very much appreciated!!
