Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income area, with few resources readily provided for them. Many of my students live in the local homeless shelters because of their unfortunate family situations.

They want to learn and do well, but their circumstances do not allow for it.

Many of my students are new to the country and are ELL students. They come from families where English is not often spoken. For many of my students, this is their first experience in America.

My students are special because despite their disadvantages they come to school every day ready to learn. They are willing to try new things and challenge themselves anyway they can.

My Project

Read, write and share from your home to mine will benefit the students during this very difficult time. Chart paper and an easel will help my students stay engaged and learn new curriculum. Having an easel will allow my lessons to be more interactive and will give my students that comfortable classroom feel. My students are so sad that they will not return to the building for the 2019-2020 school year. Making anchor charts like we would if we were in our classroom gives my students a sense of normalcy and hope. They feel happy to continue whole group instruction. Having a wireless mouse would allow my students to have an organized online classroom and get student work graded that much faster! Students who struggle with using the track pad will be able to use the wireless mouse to complete online assessments, and projects.
