My Project

Help the striving readers I work with at my school become skilled readers by providing me with a color printer and laminating machine! I currently work as our school's Reading Interventionist and serve as the head of the Language Arts Department. I support students across grade levels that are currently 2+ Grade Levels below in reading. Currently, our school has more students reading below grade level than on grade level, which is consistent with national trends. I work with students both in my own classroom and will start providing push in reading support in various other classrooms. I provide targeted, data driven reading interventions based on each student's own unique reading needs and interests--ranging from phonics instruction to language comprehension strategies.

The color printer and laminating machine will directly impact my struggling readers.

With your help, I can help bring reading to life for struggling readers who need it the most. These resources will directly impact student learning across grade levels. Color Coded texts, and engaging, fully laminated photos will provide the much-needed differentiated learning that my students need and will be sturdy enough for reuse! In addition, I will use these resources to create school-wide, color coded "Reading Strategies" binders so all students will have access to consistent, research-based reading instruction.
