it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This past year, my group of students were fully remote, which means that they learned entirely from home. Now, this September, the students returned to the classroom for the first time in almost two years! Since we are teaching an ICT class, my co-teacher and I have to constantly differentiate the curriculum. Our students are patient, kind, hard-working, and come to each morning right at 8:30 AM. They need more resources to be successful this year!
Each school year, I get a group of students who inspire me to do more to help them reach their potential and this year couldn’t be more true.
Despite the obstacles this school year brings for our community, they continue to impress us on a daily basis. The best thing is that each morning we are greeted with all smiles!
My Project
Since COVID, our students have fallen behind with their reading levels. We were finally fortunate enough to get a set of guided reading books to help improve their reading. Thirteen boxes of books were delivered to the school. We do not have bookshelves or any type of shelving in the classroom, so we have nowhere to store and display the books for the students. This bookcase and coordinating bins would solve this problem for us! With this bookcase, we would be able to organize the books by reading level and move it around the classroom to each group of students to ensure small group instruction takes place!
