Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All different ethnicities make up our school and we are proud to be a strong community school. 100% of our students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. We have a mix of English Language Learners throughout the school.

The students take pride in their school and the teachers and staff who work there.

Our school does its best to support our students. We are a well crafted school that wants to ensure that students are receiving a well rounded education, as well as building relationships and everlasting characteristics that will shape who they are and prepare them for their future. These students need some tender love and care and we are proud to provide that support.

My Project

Not all students have a love for reading. That is why it is extremely important to introduce them to the right book to help them find a love for reading. I remind my students on a daily basis that reading wasn't always pleasurable for me. But as I got older, I indulged in books that I loved to read and now have a love and passion to read.

My students are in love with reading comic based books.

After research, I have finally found many series that are comic based at a K-3 reading level. This is so important that the students can understand what they are reading. These books (Legends of Zita series, The Bad Guys series, and Big Nate series) will be perfect for the students to finally sit back and enjoy reading during D.A.R.E time. I can't wait to share these books with the kids!
