This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
— Dr. Seuss
I work in a low income school in Arizona.
My children come from families that are unable to provide a rich literacy environment at home. While my children face many academic and emotional challenges at home they come to school with a smile on their face and are filled with an eagerness to learn. My children are extremely motivated to learn and their excitement for education is contagious!
My Project
My students need a listening station with books on CD to promote early childhood literacy. My students will benefit greatly from a listening station in our classroom. I want my students to be exposed to various forms of literacy. Listening stations are a fun and effective way to teach kindergartners to read as well as expose them to rich vocabulary.
Words cannot describe how excited my children will be to have a listening station in our classroom.
With your help we can level the playing field and equip my current and future students with the resources necessary to attain their academic goals.
