My students need a new listening center. They love listening to books read aloud, and this helps them become better readers! We'd love to have a cozy spot to read too.
My students love to hear stories read aloud! The more books I can expose my students to, the better. Listening to books helps them with fluency, comprehension, and much more!
I teach a wide variety of students.
Some don't have books at home or anyone to read to them. Others do have plenty of books, but all my students deserve access to stories. My students favorite time of day is story time. They're still young enough to enjoy listening to a good book read to them.
My Project
We will use the listening center during center time for small groups to listen to several books. They can follow along to work on many reading skills like comprehension and fluency. It will also help them become more expressive when they read aloud. Having a comfortable spot to enjoy a good book makes it even more enjoyable.
This project will help spark the love of books in many children.
My students look forward to the listening center. I'd be able to use all my books on tape that have been sitting since I don't have a tape player. There are many exciting books read aloud that my kids can enjoy this year!
