My Students

I am the proud teacher of 28, school-loving, kindergarten students. Each morning they arrive eager to start their day and are abuzz with the new things that we are going to learn. There is a love of learning from the moment they arrive!

My school is located in a multicultural area of Philadelphia.

A percentage of students are learning to speak English for the first time. It is a low-income area of the city and students often come to school with few to no resources provided by the school district. However, my students never see that as a barrier to their learning and are always motivated to do their best.

My Project

Kindergarten students love hearing a great story with their teacher and at home with their parents or caregivers. These books will help the students in my class take home quality books to be read to at home.

Being read to each day is one of the most important parts of learning to read.

These books will allow my students to have access to quality literature each night at home and to share the love of learning to read with their caregivers. Favorite characters and kindergarten topics are included in the selected books to ensure a joyous read at home.
