My Project
At our high school, many students struggle with reading and come from low-income households with limited access to engaging books. Traditional physics texts can feel intimidating or disconnected from their lives, making it harder for them to connect with science. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir is a fast-paced, accessible novel that blends humor, survival, and real science.
A class set of this book would not only improve literacy but also show students how science applies to real-world challenges.
It introduces physics concepts like propulsion, gravity, and problem-solving in a way that feels exciting and relatable.
Even reluctant readers are drawn in by the story's suspense and the protagonists's journey from confusion to confidence. It's an opportunity to build curiosity, critical thinking, and the belief that learning can truly change lives - even save them.
