I am a third grade teacher. A lot of my students are English Language Learenas. I have a high hispanic population. i also have several students with special needs. They are from low income families. i have been recently trsnsferef to this school and i would like to meet the vast needs of my students. i want to see them develop strong reading. Wriding and math skills so they can have a good future. It has been proven that children who are readinag on grade level at the end of third grade stand z gestate chance of success in the future.
These materials will allow my students to enhance their reading skills on a day basis. I am requesting a daily reading journal for each student. They will be exposed to multiple comprehension strategies. It will support and enhance what they are learning in their guided reading group and during whole class instruction. I believe the daily independent activity will enhance their performance-cob standardized test. It is aligned with the Connecticut state standards. It is important that students are reading on grade level by the end of third grade. I want to expose my students to multiple opportunities to read different genres and to work on multiple comprehension skills. I am also requesting a daily writing journal for each student. They will also enhance their writing skills.
