My Students

My first graders are at an age where they still enjoy coming to school. We work hard each day, and my kids have already made a great deal of progress. In order to keep my students excited about learning, I'm requesting several high-interest books to add to our class library.

This year I have an amazing group of students who come to school each day full of energy and excited to learn.

One of my primary goals as their teacher is to help turn my kids into strong readers who actually enjoy reading. One of the best ways to accomplish this goal is to make reading exciting by exposing them to great stories that are challenging and fun to read.

My Project

That's why I'm requesting ten sets of high interest books that I know my students will enjoy reading. By obtaining sets of books, my kids will be able to read with a partner, in a small group, or independently. When students are able to read with their friends they have a great time, and they actually push each other to be better readers.

Thank you so much for considering my project.

Teaching students to read is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. We live in an age full of technology and fancy gadgets, but I still feel that a good book can captivate a child's imagination and transport them to a different place. Any donation that you can make will be greatly appreciated.
