This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Gung Hay Fat Choy or Happy New Year! This is the Year of the Rabbit and the festivities have begun.

We would like the chopsticks, miso soup, and soup spoons to try the various flavors of Asian cultures.

My students do not know how to use a chopstick so I will show them using fried rice that I will make. I also want them to try Japanese miso soup so we just need to add hot water and they can try soup with seaweed and tofu. The soup spoons will be like the ones in the ramen shops so this will be authentic.

All my students love watching the dragon dances on video so they can mimic a dragon with the miniature tissue paper dragons. The books on the 12 days of... are great reads because they follow the song of the 12 Days of Christmas. We had so much fun singing the 12 Days of the Lunar New Year that we are requesting more so students can take them home.
