Read, Relax and Refocus

Help me give my students a carpet to sit on and relax when they need a place to decompress, relax or read a book, and some stools to give them the choice of places to sit and regroup.

My Students

My elementary students shine when they have the opportunity to work together to learn while they are at school.

Sometimes kids need a safe, quiet place to go and gather their thoughts or just "get lost" in a book!

Our school is located in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is made up of a mix of boys and girls, economic backgrounds and social experiences.

My kids are creative and passionate when they are engaged and they flourish when they are given the opportunity to be at their best emotionally and mentally. This reading corner will give them this space!

My Project

The social emotional well being of children is changing and classrooms need a safe place for the kids to go and relax and refocus.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will also help to increase their academic achievement.

The carpet that I am requesting will give my students a soft comfortable place to sit or lay down. Right now they are on the cold tile floor. The stools can serve as a seat or a table for the kids to sit or lean on. My goal is for my students to have some choices in how they relax with these materials available. When students are able to go and relax and focus students will be able to perform better during the academic parts of our day. The demands on students and the new fast pace of their lives has resulted in a need for safe, secure environments for their best learning to occur.
