My Students
As my students begin class they can often be heard asking what special event we have for the day. They are eager to experience learning in a fun and interesting way. My first-grade STEM magnet students are eager to participate in new and hands-on activities.
My young students are filled with wonder and joy as they learn something new each day.
Our school is a Title l school in an area where many of the students live in apartments and have limited financial resources. Many students have parents who work long hours and have to be in childcare or with babysitters. At home, they may not have the time or access to some of the opportunities they could get through school.
My Project
My students are very interested in reading and can decode words well. My school has supplied me with grade-level books but I need more challenging books to keep my advanced readers engaged and interested. This book set will give my students both fiction and nonfiction books to spur their love of learning. We will be able to use these books on a daily basis in our classroom library and for small group time. My children love to read books and this set of new books will definitely enrich their learning.
