Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am very lucky to be working with some amazing kindergarten students. These students love to come to school every day and look forward to new experiences.
My students attend a Title I school where 100% of my students receive free or reduced lunch.
Over 90% of my students are English Language Learners so they are learning to read and speak English as their second language. Some of my students come from extremely challenging backgrounds.
My students love to play games and learn through play. They need hands-on activities to keep them engaged. I want the very best for all of my students!
My Project
My students need engaging books to read and listen to every day in the classroom. These books will help build my students' love of reading and spark their interest when we read together as a classroom community.
It is important that all students be given the educational opportunities that they deserve regardless of their socioeconomic status.
I see my students wanting to reread books that we read together in class. The books I have added to my project will be relevant to content in a variety of ways. My students will be able to pick up these books in literacy centers and read them again and again.
