My Students

My students are really starting to love to read and become great mathematicians. In the mornings they love to come right in and get started with either their flashcards or reading books.

My second grade class is an amazing group of kids.

However, our school has more than 40% of its students on free or reduced lunch. The poverty rate here is very high, but the kids are bright and dedicated to their learning. Our school works very hard to help our students be successful in way we can.

My Project

If my students were able to get the tablets and boogie boards they would be able to further their learning themselves as well as with the help of the teacher. The tablets would allow me to load reading apps on them and have students improve their reading fluency. The boogie boards would help my students work out their math problems in a fun and interactive way. Both the boogie boards and tablets would help take their learning to another level.

Donations to my classroom will help to improve my students abilities to read and write further than they are able to at this point.

By this, I mean that they will be more engaged in their own learning and be driven to oversee their own learning. Teaching students to take ownership of their learning is one of the greatest things we can teach kids.
