Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like to read your first chapter book? Was it scary? Was it exciting? This year will be the first year for many of my students to enter the world of chapter books and read something with more than 20 pages!

My students are in a self-contained special education classroom in New York City.

They are in grades 3,4 and 5. These students require a smaller class setting to meet their needs. In a smaller setting, I am able to meet more of their individual needs and help them continue to grow. Many of these students don't have many books at home and adding more to my library will allow my students to be able to bring books home at night.

My Project

I am requesting these materials because I am moving to a new classroom with very few books. All of these books will be read by this class and my classes to come! These are some of the classic childhood books that I want my children to be exposed to. They are from a variety of genres and will allow my students to have NEW books!

This project is so important because it will allow my students to have an even better year.

I will be able to continue to instill the importance of reading and show them how to feel successful reading a REALLY long book! I promise these books will be put to good use!
