Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are creative, eager, and willing to tackle challenging projects. To try to keep up with them...or even stay ahead...I bring new ideas to them by way of guest speakers, Project-Based Learning opportunities, and outside of the box experiences.

When thinking about my students, the fact that almost all participate in Instrumental Music, stand in line to sign up for LEGO or Computer Club, or show up in great numbers to audition for our After School Drama program continues to amaze me with their varied interests and enthusiasm to learn This will help me help them become 21st Century Learners with an appreciation of history.

My Project

No matter where we are - reading is a pastime to be enjoyed by everyone. These sets of books will be circulated among my students as we read about an inspiring time in our history in historical fiction and learn about an important poet, Phillis Wheatley.

Readers are leaders and reading about a pivotal time in history will help my students become leaders.

The Seeds of America Trilogy will, no doubt, tell the stories of loyalty and patriotism as well as help the forge through a time in history with a new understanding of slavery and the hope and promise of freedom.
