My Students
Read, read, read! That's always the push in our classroom. I've worked hard to put together a classroom library for my kids - garage sales, library book sales, even a donors choose for some tough-to-find levels! Now I'd love to give them a comfortable spot to do it.
My kids come from hard-working families that want the best possible education for their children.
Every teacher in the school believes that it is our job to overcome any preconceived notions about what our kids can or can't do and we meet often as a staff to discuss how to do just that. We do home visits, work an extended day, etc. We are making progress as a school and we want to keep that going.
My Project
Books were my first priority for our room of course, so I did what I could and went to a carpet warehouse to get some carpet squares for my kids to pull out when it was their turn to do independent reading in the classroom library. They worked great - credit to my mom, veteran teacher, for that tip - but are starting to look pretty beat up. A nice carpet like this one would make our reading area look much more inviting!
No one wants to sit on a hard tile floor to read.
But put this carpet down and a couple cushions and all of a sudden the classroom library is the place to be! Please help me provide my students with a nice spot to read for years to come.
