My Students

The majority of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and 85% qualify for free or reduced-price school lunch. Our kindergarten students represent a plethora of cultures and linguistic backgrounds, and all of them have something special to share with us!

Our diverse school has energetic, eager students who are ready to distance learn!

Our students are Arabic, Latino, Black, Caucasian, Egyptian, Russian, Chinese, Vietnamese, and mixed heritage. We are learning to be safe, responsible, and respectful in our classrooms and school!

My Project

My students love and enjoy our read aloud book times! But we need more of our favorite author's books. My students have fallen in love with Mo Willem's books and his favorite book characters, Gerald, Piggie, and Pigeon. We would love to add to our collection and read more about our favorite characters and all the adventures and experiences they will encounter in their other books.

My students are also learning to explore and express their many different feelings, especially during this very challenging time that we are all experiencing.

We need books about gratitude, kindness, and feelings to help us learn more about these concepts and feel more comfortable and safe to share how we are feeling with others.
