My very first 3rd grade class is an exciting mix of big, fun personalities! I hold the world's next nurses, teachers, artists, fashion designers, doctors, mechanics, firefighters, police officers, and maybe even the next president in this class! I can't wait to see how much they will grow in the following 180 days.
In this class, we are a family.
We take care of one another. We pick each other up on a down day. We love and build our family up. Our class loves to give compliments and encourage one another to reach for their goals. This is a very special bunch!
My Project
It is important that developing children are read to EVERYDAY! They need to hear books being read to them to understand what fluency looks like and help with comprehension skills. Books are used to teach things like character, setting, inferencing, text structure, plot, and SO MUCH MORE!
Books help children build character.
Not only can I teach ELA skills, but I can teach social and life skills through books! My students need to know the right way to treat adults, friends, and any other member of society. Books can also provide us a little laugh and good ole joy.
