Fuel their journey? EVERY TIME I made a check-in call this summer, parents commented that their student just didn’t have access to a lot of books. I wish to kickoff this virtual school year by sending book bundles to my little budding scholars, bringing joy to their hearts and food for their souls. I am asking to open their eyes to the world, their hearts to each other and ignite their spirits.

My Project

The materials will set an expectation and aid in leveling the playing field. Many of my students do not have books in their homes. During my summer check-in calls, often parents stated that they did not have in-home reading materials for their students.

The books will give them places to go even though they are housebound and their favorite entertainment facilities are closed.

They will become a part of their personal libraries in which I intend to embellish and expand as the year progresses. A student cannot become a proficient reader without reading, and reading is impossible without reading materials.
