Help me give my students tools to help them build their comprehension and vocabulary. Most of my students are lower level readers. while they enjoy reading, vocabulary and comprehension hinder their ability to truly understand the text.

My Students

My students are amazing! I teach ELA and Social Studies to Integrated and ENL students. They are bright, curious and love to learn! Most importantly, they love to read! Even the most reluctant readers develop a love of reading in my classroom. Watching them find a book or a book series they love is the best feeling in the planet! Hearing them discuss it with each other is even better! My goal is to create a community of life long readers and writers.

My Project

My students love to read! However, vocabulary knowledge and comprehension hinders this for them. They are required to take an online quiz when they finish a book and their results often diminish that awesome feeling they had while reading the book. I teach Integrated as well as ENL students so these resources will help them improve their vocabulary and increase their comprehension. Writing is also a challenge for them because of vocabulary. This will help bring their writing to life! My hope is they realize that reading and writing aren’t a chore but can be enjoyable and fun! Thank you!
