This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My wonderful students come from the neighborhood around the school and are a delight to teach. We are a Title I school, and the boys and girls represent a diverse population. I love my position as the school librarian and enjoy seeing the classes once per week. I have a group of computers for the students to use to do research and connect to online resources. Many times my students need a paper copy of their digital resources. We currently do not have a printer for the students to use.
We need a student printer to publish our research projects and book talks.
During this project we will focus on researching more information found in literature and sharing it through book talks.
My Project
We will be reading and reviewing a variety of library books this semester. Then students will go to the computer and conduct more research about the topics they have read about. Online and digital resources will be used to research topics found in our library books. The students will gather information using the computer and print the resources they need to complete their projects. When the rough drafts of the projects have been completed, they will type their projects and print them in the library. All final projects will be presented during library class as book talks. The highest quality projects will be put on display for the entire school to view.
