My Project

Our resource classroom is an engaging and exciting place to learn. Students come to the classroom to learn language, math, and expanded core skills in a small group and accessible setting. What makes our classroom unique is that many students use both American Sign Language and English to access their education.

This project has been designed to bring more multi-modal learning opportunities to our classroom and provide us a safe and organized way to store our materials.

Our classroom often hosts 2-3 small groups at a time, so the TV and stand will give us the flexibility to bring video, online games, and audio to learning groups no matter where in the classroom they meet. Books with Deaf characters will be added to our inclusive library and allow students to see themselves in literature. The cabinets and boxes will provide us with a way to store our literacy curriculum and all our math manipulatives. Students in our classroom range in skill level from kindergarten to 4th grade. This means we have materials to meet the skill needs of each students. This takes up a lot of storage in our classroom that has no built in cabinets. Finally, the cardstock, folders, stickers, and lamination pockets will allow us to customize activities, flashcards, and more for students.
